Collaborative Inquiry based Maths

At Naenae, we are beginning to follow a DMIC approach for our teaching of the Mathematics Curriculum. This programme of Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities (DMIC) is founded on a structured inquiry based approach which enables children to solve mathematical problems collaboratively and with a range of learners. We are also able to ensure the contexts align with our localised curriculum and relates to student knowledge and understanding.

All our staff at Naenae are included in professional learning and development with Jodie Hunter of Massey University. This is a school wide approach that is explicit and systematic.
